Parallel Berlin head Daniela La Luz returns to her home away from home, HOUSEWAX with a few friends to rework her modern classic, "Did You Ever". Originally released in 2014 "Did You Ever" was an instant classic amongst decerning house heads, but it was when Detroit legend, Moodymann dropped it as closing track on his DJ Kicks compilation the year later. The light well and truly spun onto La Luz and her sublime approach of house and techno. Now to kick off 2018 Housewax have invited Virgo 4, Dah Ruh and Cinthie to offer their spin on "Did You Ever". Together they each offer 3 unique takes from house to deep techno, yet managing to stay true to the soulful flavor of the original.

Analog warmth, polished acid lines, breathy pads and rolling drum sequences – Tel-Aviv via Berlin producers PRZ and Dasco (Gal Perez and Hadas Cohen) are slowly but surely marking themselves as the friendly newcomers that you should be keeping a firm eye on. With just a couple of releases under their belts plus a hefty amount of experience in the studio, their music is finally beginning to surface. The two producers, who originally met at a party in Tel-Aviv joined forces two years later for a four day studio session to bring this collaborative extended player to light (the title might be also imply the duo’s understanding of old school aesthetics). Our pick ‘Line Machine‘ features seven minutes of acid-drenched house; with buzzy analog chords and funky synth-work, gliding and switching positions over a driving, punchy drum section.

Rick Wade was born in small-town western Michigan, less than an hour from Chicago's South Side. In the mid '80s, while studying at the University of Michigan, Wade gained his first gigs spinning deep underground house at the Nectarine Ballroom, the venue where Jeff "The Wizard" Mills was also making his name, for techno rather than for house. Simultaneously, Wade maintained a successful mix show on WCBN named "Journey To The Land of House." It was a huge success, as were his subsequent gigs at clubs in and around Detroit. So much so that, by '93, Wade was able to build his own studio and form a label, Harmonie Park. Wade has released his textured brand of house not only on his own label but also on the likes of Trackmode, Moods and Grooves, ATC, M3, Elevate, Chord 44/Container, and Out Of The Box.
