Mr. G returns for his fifth album 'A Good Place..?' landing on his renowned Phoenix G imprint in November. 'This was a real surprise as I thought I was done doing another album for a good while, but hey... I'm not complaining! Funnily enough I started writing this after some horrid treatment at a gig I did...negative start haha! After the things I've been through over the last few years just being alive is a great place for me each day and a God blessed bonus.' - Mr. G (2016) When not stirring crowds into a frenzy by performing his effervescent live show across the globe, Colin McBean's year has been fruitful to say the least, including dropping releases on Defected, Midnight Shift and Bass Culture, not to mention releasing on his own reputable label Phoenix G. Following on from last year's album, 'A Good Place...?' now sees Mr. G assemble 10 tracks that are exemplary of his distinct musical style. Atmospheric cuts such as 'Yard Food', 'The Moment You Realise' and 'In the Sun Finally!' conjure up an otherworldly aesthetic, whilst robust and moody numbers like 'Nothin' (Cause We Are Strong?)', 'Love Dub' and 'G's Jazz' demonstrate McBean's unique ability to generate raw emotion. There are also intricate productions, such as the rhythmic and percussive 'One For The Headz' and 'All In Time', not to mention the lo-fi thudding 'That Late Night Thought?' and funk-fuelled sample driven 'Interluded 1'.

Who would've ever thought? The G man found himself a protege. After the odd 50+ solo releases offered through his Phoenix G imprint 'Mr.G' has found himself a young producer that has a style that connects with the Phoenix G output thus far. With G opening his bag of tricks to him, this can't go wrong. Mysterious Jayson Wynters offers a 4 track record that is hazy, technoid and threads into deep territories every now and then. 'Unfamiliar Territories EP' opens with the deep down perc jam named 'Momentum' a moody dubbish track that sets the tone for things to come. The title track offers a more emotive ride that's being supported by tough saw basses and windy pads that float throughout. The B side openen Science is a tough house cut that is reminiscent of the glory days of US deephouse and sounds as a solid classic rather than a new cut. The closing down bit '1 more' is the same story. Firmly produced drum patterns with classic bass sounds and hazy pads.

The album itself is a sublime deliverance of the sound that has become so closely associated with the UK selector and artist - twelve raw & robust cuts that keep you locked from start to finish. As the title suggests the new project stems from particular inspiration and is best illuminated by the man himself. 'Well, ain't this a surprise? Took me a year to do the last album and this one wrote itself over 10 days - my first times back in the studio ( aka The Heightz) since losing my Dad! As ever with me the music never lies and, through it, you'll see the twists and turns I take - outpouring inner vibez and hoping to get to a new destination .........., what/wherever that may be. MR.G is returning with a mint 4 tracker for the heads. 4 acey analog anthems with that authentic MR.G. sound. Rich basses and excellent placed vocal cuts that allign with open hats perfectly. Another Phoenix G smasher to end up the year with.

Mr. G continues his legacy with a hard hitting 12' which entirely covers the broad spectrum of true house music. While the A1 track starts out a little sinister it still evolves into a lush ambiance. This sourishly vibe changes continue throughout the release. Another top notch MR.G effort which shouldnt be missed.

Phoenix G. Ferm and deep kickdrums that are being accompanied by lengthy chords and a frequently return male vocal that states, bounce. All and all this is the dancefloor music we are used to from Mr.G. The A2 brings a more technoish vibe to dance to. This fits perfect in the modern trend of bass producers turning techno. While of course G is somewhat more of a legend and he didnt just turn to this type of music recently. It does proove that he is still abel to catch any kind of vibe to get the people moving. On the B1 we find a Ben Sims remix. Which of course is enough said. Mr Sims turns the A2 original into an absolute floor wrecker.

MR G's forthcoming effort on the Phoenix G imprint is somewhat of a dark one. With crazy amounts of white noise processed as hats and some of the fattest kicks you'll ever hear, this is definitely one of those acey warehouse releases that will fit perfect in the modern trend of raw but touching house.

Straight up Dubby, Techy and Deephouse with beautiful pads and one shots. Bossebollen is a true spooky house anthem with well placed one shot vocals. On the flip we find the more Techy track Time is now and the amazing reprise of Guidance which is a beatless string journey filled with short vocal cuts.

The new Phoenix G (PG039) is an excellent deep and hypnotizing release. Relying heavily on one shot chords and thumping vintage drum machines this is one for the bag. The A1 Concequences is a real deep one with nice open hats and good places chords. A real open mix for the late / early hours. The B1 is a real vintage percussive slammer with nice one shots that together create a real oldschool vibe. The latin vocal in this track gives it a somewhat different vibe, really good for the dancefloor. The B2 is a dark peak time anthem. This will go off at any quality house evening. What a strange but wonderful vibe those rhodes in the middle are giving. True analog deephouse by Mr.G
