Bodytrax

The 6th Bodytrax release is the first in a new series and marks the first appearance of artists other than Bodyjack on the label. He has invited some of his favourite kindred spirits along for some duelling action over the machines with the simple premise for each EP; both deliver a track apiece, which is then remixed by the other. It is with great pleasure to say that the first to step-up to the plate is Fiedel (MMM, Ostgut Ton, Berghain etc). The Berliner whose work has featured in Chris's DJ sets for aeons, has been behind some of the music that has without question influenced the Bodytrax label since the outset. His idiosyncratic production style meshes perfectly with Bodyjack, and it's safe to say fans of both will not be disappointed to have this duel kick off the series.

BodyTrax drops it's second EP of 2016 with another essential 3-tracker from Bodyjack. Laugh It Up opens things up and we are in vintage Bodyjack territory from the outset. Rough (and we mean rough!) beats and percussion, vocal hook and a metallic riff combined with possibly his ugliest bass line to date to make this an essential addition the bag/crate of any house DJ. Slow Clap strips things right down to just drums and bass taking the track into even more raw areas. Warehouse vibes! The title track I'm Here All Week on the flip is one of those simple but infectious house tracks that you're going to remember after a night out. Once again, our man's synth n' bass work duck around those sharply programmed beats he's know for to round off the EP with a bang.

Bodyjack returns to his BodyTrax label with another 3 outstanding BodyTrax. "Is He Always Like This?" is an infectious groove-based techno workout which has been tried and tested by a select few DJs over the last few months. Kamala's Revenge is a hypnotic tribal roller with darkside vocals, off-kilter rhythms and & tripped out FX. One for the heads down crew. Last but not least, the uptempo house jacker "Disrespect" combines a killer bassline and Bodyjack's now signature razor sharp beats n' stabs to round off the EP. Oh, and there are 4 locked grooves on the 12" release for the heads. Don't sleep on this one!

The EP kicks off with BodyTrax 4 - a peak-time techno workout with a cheeky vocal hook and a heavy breakdown. On the flip, BodyTrax 5 revisits classic King Street / DJ Sneak territory (with a hint of UKG), before closing off the record with his quirkiest track to date in BodyTrax 6.
