We commence with a warm and bouncy UK acid house vibe. We conclude with a beguiling 'Boards of Canada' style electronic bubble bath. We're treated to an array of flavors and an outstanding S.O.N.S remix in between. It can only be MUSAR and another compelling collection from Ricardo Tobar.
With a discography that started on Border Community and includes the likes of Co-coon and ESP Institute as well as MUSAR, Chilean Ricardo's credentials speak for themselves.
His music does, too. Constantly playing with themes of displacement, disorientation and delight in his fusions, 'Our Violence' was inspired by the ongoing discussions of cultural appropriation. At its heaviest, on tracks like the Isolee-esque 'Our Vio-lence' and S.O.N.S's SYO rolling breakbeat remix of 'La Femme Aux Masques', we're thrust deep into the most hypnotic of dances. At its most esoteric and experi-mental, tracks like 'Mineral' and 'La Femme Aux Masques', we're taken to places we didn't even know existed. Places that refuse to accept current formulas or standards and take us outside the box - where MUSAR always loves to be.

And here we go again. After making his self-titled label debut in 2019 followed up by the super limited cassette tape "Sport EP" in 2020 Mint Huus is finally back on Cheezy Crust Records - and he's back on vinyl!

Exploring "Odd Radio Circles" we see Mint Huus catering an array of four cuts, once again covering and exploring a spectrum of superbly driving, high quality electronic club music of a timeless quality which is nothing short of a truly epic manifestation of the German artists production standard and value which is up to par with the genres greats.

Sparse, yet melodic, bouncing, yet dreamy from the very start the Mainz / Germany-based producer effortly amalgamates a highly functional Electro foundation, beautifully arranged vintage retro synth layers and ever bubbling Acid modulations to further carve out and create a distinct sonic realm and niche which, due it's innate drive and well comforting depth, is set to excel way beyond the confined boundaries of the Electro genre and gain praise and recognition on many dancefloors all around the globe.

Hugo Mari - Acid Locomotive (00:00) Hugo Mari - Acid Locomotive (00:00) 2 Hugo Mari - Acid Locomotive
Following previous sold out instalments from Yadava, EVM128 & James Rudie, Partner Music, High Praise bossman Hugo Mari steps up to the plate for the 5th instalment of the label’s lauded edits series. Two action-packed, vinyl-only, bombs set for dancefloor detonation, the A-Side 'Tired Of Sitting Down' channels the past year's sedentary frustrations into a joyous invitation back to the club, whereas on the flip 'Acid Locomotive' is an intense, driving number, complete with uplifting fanfares and (as the title suggests) a little acid-tinged addition. It’s good to be back. Having steadily honed his soulful sound over the past few years with releases on Heist and Freerange Records, as well as amassing over 2 Million Spotify streams, Hugo has marked himself as one to watch in the UK’s vibrant electronic music landscape. His knack for fusing organic musical elements with driving rhythms and emotive melodies, allows him to craft beautifully uplifting music that works beautifully either at home or on the dance floor, winning support from Jamz Supernova, Tom Ravenscroft, Nemone, Complex, Stamp The Wax, Ransom Note & many more.

House music legend Ian Pooley readies ‘Studio A Pt. 1’, the first of a three release series, for Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint this September. Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, as well as remixing for the likes of Daft Punk, Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more. Here though, Pooley arrives on Rekids with his first ever contribution to the label, delivering three direct and grooving house tracks. Leading the release, ‘Basic Juno’ sees modulating synth lines deftly placed around chunky drums accompanied by pulsing basslines and shimmering pads, before ‘Close Your Eyes’ brings a dose of trippy vocals and shuffling percussion amongst interplaying hardware for a punchy start to the B side. ‘303 (2 Bars)’ brings the release to a close with pounding drum machines, meaty acid lines, and blissful leads.
